Belt without buckle

Let's be honest: When a belt breaks or shows signs of wear after a long period of wear, our first thought is usually to simply buy a new belt. But in 99% of cases, it's just the belt strap that's past its best. The belt buckle, on the other hand, is often made of robust materials like metal or similar and has a significantly longer half-life than the belt.

So why buy a whole new belt when all you really need is a new strap? Ask yourself this question. Ask it to your friends and family. And you'll find that the answer often lies simply in the offer.

We have belt straps without buckle

Belts are mostly mass-produced as "finished products." In other words, the strap and buckle make up the finished product. Hardly any manufacturer goes to the trouble of including belt straps as individual items in their product range. But, as with everything, there are exceptions—and we are one of them.

We offer a variety of belts in various sizes without a belt buckle. This allows you to use your favorite buckle almost forever and combine it with a wide variety of straps. This opens up entirely new possibilities for your outfits and guarantees a unique look.

Interchangeable belts – it couldn’t be more sustainable

Thanks to their robust material, belt buckles are often extremely durable products and usually outlast the lifespan of the belt. Therefore, it only makes sense to continue using the buckle, even if the original belt may have already served its purpose.

As a sustainable fashion label, conscious consumption and long-lasting products are particularly important to us, and that's why we're pleased to offer you belt straps without buckles. Because the longest possible product lifecycle conserves resources and thus our environment. Therefore, our appeal to you: Don't throw away the entire belt when the strap has served its purpose! Give the buckle the longest possible life and, in the spirit of sustainability, give it a new shine with a new strap!

Leather straps - naturally vegetable tanned

Leather belts and sustainability? For many people, these two concepts don't seem to fit together at first glance. But upon closer inspection, choosing a leather belt actually makes tremendous sense for a sustainable lifestyle. Our leather is vegetable-tanned, and we take great care to avoid the use of harmful toxins like chromium or other substances during production. This not only helps the environment but also protects you as a consumer from allergic reactions to harmful substances.

The biggest environmental benefit, however, is the high quality and durability of our leather belts. While quality comes at a price, a fair price is very important to us. And when you buy a high-quality leather belt that doesn't wear out like other belts after a few months or a year or two, you're helping to combat the throwaway society and rising CO2 emissions. Less consumption means less production and therefore less damage to the environment. So say yes to slow fashion and no to shoddy products with a short half-life!

Leather care – how to treat your belt gently

Leather belts are like leather shoes: With proper care, you can extend their longevity many times over and thus enjoy your belt even more. When caring for leather belts, you should only use high-quality, leather-safe care products to ensure the leather's outstanding properties remain flawless for as long as possible.

Leather grease is one of the best leather care products. Regularly greasing leather preserves its structure and, above all, ensures that your belt stays supple. The magic formula here is "less is more": Simply apply a thin layer of colorless leather cream with a cloth and gently move the belt. This allows the grease to penetrate the pores of the leather and not simply cling to the surface. After greasing, you can wipe the leather belt with a soft, dry cloth or rag.

Important: Even rarely worn leather belts should be cared for to ensure the material retains its suppleness. To achieve this, the leather belt should be rolled up regularly, as otherwise it can become brittle and fragile.

Additionally, leather belts should not be treated with leather conditioner or leather polish immediately before wearing. It's better to treat them the day or evening before. Since leather needs moisture from time to time, it's recommended to hang the leather belt in the bathroom for 1-2 hours after showering or bathing. This allows the belt to absorb a small amount of moisture, which isn't contained in most conventional leather care products.

The belt - an indispensable accessory

Perhaps no other fashion accessory combines utility and aesthetics as clearly as the belt. The days when belts were simply meant to hold a garment in place are over. Belts are as diverse as the people who wear them. Wide leather belts, braided fabric belts with decorative stitching, studded belts, or even metallic belts – the sky's the limit. Belts usually add the finishing touch to our outfits and emphasize our personality. Often, belts have to match shoes, handbags, or other accessories.

At Simaru, you'll find various belts made of leather and cork, as well as numerous buckles made of high-quality metals. This creates countless combination possibilities to perfectly complement your look and style.

Your perfect belt length

If you're unsure of your belt size, you can easily measure it yourself. You can do this by using a flexible tape measure, for example, and looping it through your pants loops like a belt, or wrap it around your waist until the tape goes all the way around your body. Then simply choose the belt length that's closest to your hip measurement, and you're done!

If you don't have a flexible tape measure at home, you can also simply use an old belt. Using a ruler or other measuring device, measure the length from the inner end of the buckle to the hole or the part of the strap with the most wear. This is where your old belt probably fit best. A quick tip: If the first or last hole is the most frequently used part of the belt strap, you should double-check to make sure it's still the right length or if you could wear the belt tighter or looser.
